Labor Day: Honoring Workers’ Rights and Calling for Equality

Michigan, MI – American Center For Justice

On this Labor Day, we honor the contributions of working people across the United States and reaffirm the principle that labor rights are human rights. This day stands as a reminder of the historic struggles of American workers who fought for fair wages, safer conditions, reasonable hours, and the right to organize—achievements that continue to shape the foundation of justice and equality in the workplace.

Yet, challenges remain. Many workers still face inequities, unsafe environments, and barriers to exercising their rights. Upholding labor rights in the United States is not only an economic necessity but also a moral obligation to safeguard dignity and equality for all.

Labor Day is therefore more than a celebration; it is a call to action—to strengthen protections, close gaps in enforcement, and ensure that every worker in America has access to fairness, security, and opportunity.
