Michigan - The American Center for Justice (ACJ) appreciates that the Palestinian and Israeli sides established a temporary humanitarian truce that came into force this morning, stressing that it represents an opportunity that must be invested and built upon by the countries sponsoring it in order to renew it and eventually lead to a permanent ceasefire agreement.

The ACJ also points out in this context that this truce came too late after heavy human losses. The international silence contributed to an increase in the number of deaths and genocide against the residents of the Gaza Strip, which requires the international community to bear its responsibilities and put pressure to keep the truce in force for a longer period to allow the entry of the largest possible amount of humanitarian aid and open the crossings to deliver food and medicine to the Gazans and to give the countries sponsoring the agreements sufficient time to exert greater efforts and create a climate that ends with a comprehensive political solution to the Palestinian issue.
