Michigan- the American Center for Justice (ACJ) was part of a joined statement released by dozens of nongovernmental international organizations, condemning the ongoing blockage and censorship of the Internet in Yemen. The statement also called for immediate action to put an end to the alarming violations of digital freedoms, the right to access information, and the right to protest, reminding the authorities in Yemen that the right to freedom of expression and the right to peaceful assembly are guaranteed under international law. 

The organizations also called on the Houthi de facto forces at the end of their statement to cease internet shutdown measures and immediately lift the blockage on news website, social media platforms in Yemen in line with the country's obligations under the ICCPR.
