Michigan - In a letter addressed to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the American Center for Justice (ACJ) called for urgent action to rescue the US embassy employees who have been detained by the Houthi group for three years. The ACJ expressed its concern over recent videos of the employees confessing to espionage for the United States, suggesting that these videos aim to justify potential harm to the employees if no action is taken to rescue them.

Latifa Jamel, President of the American Center for Justice, emphasized in her letter to the Secretary of State the need for immediate and decisive measures to secure the release of the former embassy employees. She highlighted the necessity to address their suffering and the harsh conditions they have endured during their detention, including torture and persecution.

The letter from the American Center for Justice stated that " As President of ACJ, I am deeply concerned about the plight of American embassy employees who have been detained in Sanaa by the Houthi militia for over three years."

"Jamel" added that: " These individuals have been subjected to severe conditions and have been forced to confess to espionage under duress. The Houthis have aired these confessions on their channels, clearly setting the stage for possible death sentences. This situation is dire, and their lives are in immediate jeopardy."

The center concluded its letter by affirming that:" Their prolonged detention and the forced confessions are clear violations of international law and human rights. It is imperative that the U.S. government demonstrates its commitment to protecting its citizens abroad and upholding justice."
