American Center for Justice (ACJ) Condemns Targeting Civilians and Civilian Objects in Sana’a and Abu Dhabi

The American Center for Justice (ACJ) condemns the recent mutual attacks between the Arab coalition and the Houthi group, which resulted in a number of civilian casualties in the cities of Abu Dhabi and Sana’a, and it confirms  that this targeting of civilian objects and populated cities, without any respect for the rules of engagement, constitutes a violation to the Geneva rules which criminalize any attack or threat to civilian objects and installations, stressing that such practices amount to war crimes that require international accountability.

Latifa Jamel, chairperson of the center, said the war seems to have lost its most basic morals in terms of not taking into account the targeting of civilians and civilian installations, and the international community has not played any serious or real role in stopping these violations against civilians and protecting their rights which are guaranteed by the Geneva Convention and all human norms.
